Don’t believe that homes just sell themselves. Here are a few tips.


If you’ve been thinking about selling your home and wondering about hiring a discount broker or just putting your house on the MLS yourself and hoping that buyers will come, today I’d like to give you some advice.


"Just because our market is hot, that doesn’t mean you can just throw a home out there and hope that buyers will leap on it."

Discount brokers will try to convince you that all they need to do is come by your home with their cell phone and take a few pictures, list the home, and the buyers will come. Buyers do come for most listings, but they’ll notice that the home hasn’t been properly prepared or maintained, causing them to wonder if this is the home for them. If you want the most buyers to flock to your listing and pay you the most possible money for it, be sure to apply a fresh coat of paint to the walls, stage the home and declutter, and otherwise make the home feel warm and inviting. If you do this, you’ll have a  line out the door of people who want to buy the home right then and there.


Just because our market is hot, that doesn’t mean you can just throw a home out there and hope that buyers will leap on it. You still need to go through the steps to make it look professional so that it will appeal to the highest number of buyers.
